Nuada is the prince of the elves. He begged his father to accept the Golden Army.

Humanity once warred against the mystical woodland creatures. A goblin came to the Elven King to offer the construction of a clockwork robotic army -- the Golden Army. Nuada persuaded his father to accept the offer. The Golden Army then butchered the humans, more so that the humans did them. Horrified by this massacre, the King sealed the Golden Army away and declared a truce with humanity. However, Nuada was disillusioned by this act, believing that they should rule the human. He went into self-imposed exile, swearing to return the day he was needed by his people. Alongside him was his companion Mr. Wink, as he prepared for the day when he would rise up.

Many millennia later he showed up in an auction house to steal part of the crown that would control the Golden Army. He then proceeded to kill the entire attendance of the auction by releasing a swarm of Tooth Fairies. He went to his father's palace and revealed his intention to re-awaken the Golden Army and rage war on the human world. He pointed out the humans' commercialization of the world, whereas they, the elves, will fade away. At this point the king, will to resign themselves to such a fate, decided to have his son executed. Nuada then killed all the guards in the room, before taking his father's life. He grabbed his father's piece of the crown, then turned around, but his sister was gone along with the last crownpiece.

While preparing a seed, Nuada hears from a two-headed creature that his servant Mr. Wink was defeated by Hellboy. Furious, Nuada came up to the surface to unleash the seed into a forest god. When Hellboy brought his "Big Baby" gun, Nuada taunted him to kill the towering tree, for it was the last of its kind. He said Hellboy had more in common with the elves than the humans.

Nuada tracked his sister to BPRD headquarters. She attempted to burn the map so he would not find Beth Mora. However, Nuada revealed that the real map was on the canister she obtained, not the paper map as she presumed. Hellboy then turns up for a rematch. He wounds the demon with a shard of his spear. He took his sister, demanding to Abe Sapien to give him the last piece. He travels to the resting place of the Golden Army and given the last piece from Abe, but does not hold up his end of the bargain and awaken the golden Army to kill the agents. Hellboy challenges his right to the crown in a duel, as he was considered royalty in Hell. After a fierce fight, Hellboy claims victory without claiming Nuada's life, but the prince wasn't so lenient. He attempted to attack Hellboy with his back turned, only for his sister to take her life to end his. They then both turn to stone.
