Leopold Kurtz was a member of Project Ragna Rok.

History Edit

Leopold Kurtz was a member of project Ragna Rok, and present during the "Hellboy incident" in 1944. Kurtz became a devoted follower of the sorcerer Rasputin, and cryogenically froze himself inside a secret Nazi base in Norway until his master once again required his services in the future. After Rasputin's death at the hands of B.P.R.D. agents Hellboy, Abe Sapien, and Liz Sherman, during the Cavendish Hall affair, Kurtz began trying to surgically make a new body for his master. At their secret base, Kurtz, along with fellow Nazi scientist Doctor Kroenen continued their efforts to reconstitute Rasputin, and create the army of the apocalypse. Kurtz became enraged when Kroenen resurrected the criminally insane Professor Herman von Klempt. After overhearing Kroenen and von Klempt discuss treason, Kurtz loses control. Blind with rage, the maddened Kurtz savagely attacked von Klempt's disembodied head with a large wrench screaming "Rasputin is master! Death for you!". Kroenen frantically attempted to get Kurtz to hold off his attack, claiming that they were simply discussing. Then, in von Klempt's defense, Kroenen stabbed Kurtz with a scalpel, killing him.

When the Ragna Rok base self destructed, it was believed that Kurtz's body was incinerated. this later proved to be untrue. Kurtz appeared many years later in a meeting room of the Zinco Corporation with Doctor Karl Kroenen. (see Russia).

Abilities and attributes Edit

Kurtz is an ingenious scientist capable of constructing machines such as a powerful robotic suit which he uses when first encountering Roderick Zinco in Norway.

Leopold is known to often smoke cigars.

Kurtz is the presumably second youngest member of Project Ragna Rok, with the youngest being Ilsa Haupstein.

Leopold is highly short-tempered. He has an extreme hatred of Herman von Klempt.
