Sir Edward Grey, Witchfinder: In the Service of Angels is a 5 issue mini-series published from July to November 2009. This is the first Witchfinder mini-series, each issue featuring covers by Mike Mignola.
Witchfinder: In the Service of Angels chronicles one of Edward Grey's first cases as an agent of the queen, a case that takes Grey from the sparkling echelons of Victorian London to its dark underbelly in his first clash with the city's most infamous secret society: The Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra.
After his confrontation with a spectral assassin, Sir Edward hopes to find answers from a mysterious medium in London's underworld, but discovers only a labyrinthine tangle of conspiracy as the body count continues to rise.
The creature's rampage continues as Grey finds himself set against not only a murderous monster, but also London's most powerful occult society: the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra.
A horrific monster rampages through the streets of Victorian London, but not everyone wants to see the menace dead. The Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra wishes to capture the creature for their own dark purposes, and if Edward Grey is to have any hope of killing the beast before it falls into their hands, he'll have to seek aid in the most unlikely of places—a lunatic asylum.
Deep inside an asylum, Edward Grey faces a final confrontation with the mysterious beast that has been terrorizing the streets of Victorian London. Grey learns that sometimes you must use the devil's own tools to fight him when he meets up with the young Memnan Saa.
